If you're not feeling quite ready to tackle National Novel Writing Month, then you might prefer to try a story starter instead, on L. Lee Lowe's blog. Says Lee:
Over at Lowebrow I'm offering a story starter about two very odd angels and inviting readers to complete the tale, also in the hopes of encouraging new and/or young writers - not that I would mind if the likes of Neil Gaiman participated!
The best versions will get posted on Lowebrow (which, incidentally, is a great name for a blog).

Thanks for mentioning this. There's already been one submission - though not from Neil Gaiman, unfortunately (one can always dream).
